So I wanted to start this year off by wishing everyone a happy new year. And I hope y'all have just wonderfully fantastic years ahead of you!
I am going to do my absolute best to do better this year on my writing. I can tell in just the past month or two that my writing style has definitely improved. I feel like more of a writer now.
On the note of doing more writing this year, I'd like to share a little heads up on what to expect in the weeks to come.
First of all, there's still Clue: A Modern Tale that I'm working on. The plot summary is simply that when six friends go to a murder mystery show, they discover that it's
not so much of a show, and more real than they ever imagined. A fun
night has turned into someone's twisted game. I'm really excited about this story. Be watching my Wattpad or Booksie page for updates!
Other than that, there are around four short stories that I'm working on, if not more. Among them are Curiosity, The Candle, and The Missing Clue. There are others, but they have yet to be titled. I have a rough schedule planned for getting three projects hopefully tackled and posted. I'm focusing more on Clue first-after, of course, my No Kiss Blogfest scene is posted. After the next chapter of Clue is up, I'll be working on the previously mentioned short stories a bit and try to get one or two finished, then go back to Clue for another chapter. And somewhere among the craziness, try to finish my NaNoWriMo novel, 3,000 Miles Away. Because as I've said before, I have three friends who will never let me forget it if I don't finish it, haha.
So, that's the crazy year I have ahead of me. But I'm so looking forward to it! And besides, being a bit crazy sort of comes with the territory of being a writer. Not that I mind, of course. ;)
Check back later today for my No Kiss Blogfest scene! I hope y'all like it!

And the madness continues...
So I posted recently about my crazy busy schedule. It's lightened only slightly since then, the reason being that I finally managed to finish and post my Christmas short story. However, I have so many projects I'm trying to finish that my load is lightened only the tiniest bit.
I've come to the conclusion that what I probably need is some sort of schedule for writing. And I think I may have come up with something that just might work. It's not so much of a schedule, as it is just simply setting my priorities. And what I've come up with as far as that goes is this:

- Start working on more chapters for Clue, as per request of one certain reader.
- Work on a couple of short stories, in hopes to get them closer to being ready to be posted.
- Get back to work on my NaNoWriMo novel so I can hopefully at some point reach that 50k mark.
So this is what my writing life will consist of in the next few weeks. With the exception of the No Kiss Blogfest, but I'll elaborate more on that later. I look forward to writing a little more on Clue as well!
And although the excitement had died down for my NaNoWriMo novel, 3,000 Miles Away, I'm beginning to get re-excited about it again. Hopefully sometime soon I can get some actual work done on it and get that much closer to my first 50k novel! :)

Hot coffee, hot coffee...
(First off...the title sounded better in my head...)
So I have a lot of projects going on right now. Turns out just because November is over, doesn't mean I slow down much. I'm just as busy this month, and here's why...
So I have a lot of projects going on right now. Turns out just because November is over, doesn't mean I slow down much. I'm just as busy this month, and here's why...
- I'm trying to finish my NaNoWriMo novel because I have three friends who will never let me forget it if I drop this one. (Apparently, for whatever reason, they think it's good.)
- I have at LEAST four short stories I'm trying to finish so I can post them on Wattpad and Booksie.
- I also have the next chapter of Clue I'm trying to finish.
So yeah, November may be over, but my schedule is still crazy busy, at the very least, mentally.
On the upside of things, as far as my novel goes, I did think of a good scene to add recently, so once I write that, I'll be sure to update my word counter off to the side here (-->). But mark my words, it will be finished eventually. I don't know when, but it will at least be finished for the sake of me actually finishing something. I'm not sure yet if I'll want to publish it though. Personally, it's not as exciting for me as it was in the planning process. But who knows? Maybe it will actually end up being half decent.
For the short stories, I'm fairly excited about those. The first that will be posted soon is a Christmas short story. The others are little short stories I've done for fun. After a little editing, they will be posted shortly. The genre's range from a couple of mystery/thrillers, to some general fiction. I make no promises that any of them will be below 1,000 words though. Because as I've said before, my brain insists that such things do not exist.
As for the Clue story, I am working on that as well. Please bear with me as this month is just as crazy as November was. Hopefully the speed of writing chapters for Clue will pick up soon.
But for now, it's back to writing I go. I'm hoping to post the Christmas short story by the end of the week. I'm also hoping that maybe my life will slow down so I can breathe soon, haha.
Trying to remember how to breathe...

NaNoWriMo 2012
Since the month is winding down now, I guess I'll share how my month's been. I attempted National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) for the second time this year. Last year I didn't have a clue of what I was doing, and yet somehow managed to pull just over 20,000 words out of the air. This year, I had been planning my novel since last year's NaNoWriMo...and made it to a grand total of 2,913. Fail. Haha. Although the day's not over yet, and I could still up that count...but I probably won't. I blame my procrastination issues. And the fact that the first week of the month, I had borderline bronchitis, so that wiped out a whole week of writing. Plus a little recovery time. After that, I lost interest for a brief bit. And then for the majority of Thanksgiving break, I was working like a mad...woman...on everything "social media". I completely re-built my website, created a Facebook fan page, updated my Twitter, and then created this blog. In my mind, I think I should be allowed a little allowance here for not finishing my novel in time, seeing as I was so busy with everything else. Plus, I'm a lot happier now with everything done. :)
But I'm going off on a little bunny trail here...moving on...
I do have a couple of close friends here (as well as a new NaNoWriMo friend from the toe of the boot) who have all told me that they want to see me finish my novel. In my mind, I take that as more of a "you have no choice" kind of thing. So with that in mind, I am going to attempt to finish it. Whether or not I choose to publish it, I'm not sure yet. The plot sounded good at first, but now it kinda sounds cheesy to me. I've had a couple of people tell me that it sounds good to them, and they might want to read it. Even a guy friend of mine told me that he's not one for the romance genre, but that it sounded really good to him, and he liked the premise for my novel. So I don't know, I guess maybe that's still up in the air for now. I should probably focus on finishing it first, then decide if I want to publish it or not. I have a couple of friends I could possibly give the rough draft to, if they wanted to critique it for me. That would probably help.
Anyway, so yeah, my month's been kinda crazy. But I'm starting to think that's just how my November is going to be from now on. I can easily see myself doing NaNoWriMo for a long time to come. Hopefully in the future, I'll have better luck with finishing my novel within the month. And who knows? Maybe I'll even finish it early one year. That would be awesome. And for anyone who's following my blog, I'll be having a NaNoWriMo novel word counter off to the side here (-->) until I get to that 50,000. So you can keep up with that, and pep talks would be appreciated, haha. And you will most-likely know as soon as I finish because I'll probably post a celebratory post declaring that the 50,000 word count has been conquered! That will be a great day for sure.
Well, I suppose that's everything for now. I'll be posting again in a couple of days. :)
Until then.
